Fabienne Gauchet, a 1998 graduate of the Newark School of Violin Making, began her career with apprenticeships in her native France before establishing herself in Canada in 2000. She spent 15 years at the prestigious Wilder & Davis workshop, where she worked on fine instruments and collaborated with many accomplished musicians, gaining invaluable experience.
Now devoted to creating her own instruments, Gauchet combines traditional craftsmanship with a continuous pursuit of innovation. She participates in leading events such as the New York Contemporary Violin Makers Exhibition, Canada’s Forum des Fabricants, and the Oberlin Violin Making Workshop, as well as international violin-making competitions.
Her dedication to excellence has earned her numerous accolades:
2014: VSA Certificate of Merit for Cello Workmanship
